Nikon’s powerful Mirrorless Full Frame cameras – Nikon Z7 and Z6, Full Prices and Features

Nikon, after teasing with the bits of its new mirrorless cameras, has finally launched the duo of its very first full-frame mirrorless systems – Nikon Z7 and Nikon Z6. It won’t be a lie to tell that these two new entrants are the most serious products from the company in the mirrorless cameras market to strike Sony’s popular mirrorless systems.

Both the cameras shares most of the things from hardware to the software while having some differences as well including the resolution. One thing you should take in mind that they are the professional grade cameras.

The Nikon Z7 is the expensive model of the two with 45.7-megapixel, 493 focus points and longer ISO range of 65-25600. Whereas with almost-half the resolution of 24.5-megapixel, Nikon Z6 has has 273 focus points and also a smaller range of ISO sensitivity 100-51200.

Nikon Z7 doesn’t only match the resolution of Nikon D850, it has lot in common with the company’s top DSLR. However it lacks the mirror and weighs around 26% less than the respective DSLR.

The Z-mount and new Lenses

As you know, company’s new full-frame mirrorless cameras come with the new mount called Z-mount, the company has launched a new range of NIKKOR Z lenses to support the new mount. However, the new cameras will be backward compatible with existing range of NIKKOR F lenses. That will be possible with a newly launched FTZ mount adapter (short for F-to-Z mount adapter). It will be a fully compatible adapter to support over 90 NIKKOR F lenses with autofocus if supported.

Nikon has introduced the three new lenses for the two new mirrorless cameras – the standard zoom lens NIKKOR Z 24-70mm f/4 S, the wide-angle prime NIKKOR Z 35mm f/1.8 S, and the standard prime NIKKOR Z 50mm f/1.8 S.

Yes, they don’t only have the larger mount but also a new S-Line of interchangeable lenses. Nikon has designated a new grade for its NIKKOR Z lenses that will comply with the new benchmark of optical performance with new design principles and quality control.

These lenses realize a rendering performance that surpasses that of conventional f/4 standard zoom lenses and f/1.8 wide-angle or standard prime lenses. From maximum aperture, clear and sharp resolution can be achieved as well as beautiful bokeh characteristics.

In addition to the launch of above three lenses, Nikon has also announced the development of its fastest lens – NIKKOR Z 58mm  f/0.95 S Noct.
