Samsung Galaxy S10 launching on February 20th, a Foldable smartphone is also coming

Following a trail of rumors and speculations, Samsung has finally and officially announced the date of its upcoming Galaxy S flagship phones. The Korean smartphone maker will launch Galaxy S10 on February 10th

Unlike before when Samsung used to announce Galaxy S-series smartphones at Mobile World Congress, the company chooses its exclusive Unpacked event for Galaxy S10 announcement in San Francisco. Note the date and time being Wednesday February 20th, 11:00 AM PT – check the time in your timezone.

MWC this year is reportedly expected to focus on 5G technology which could be a reason Samsung will introduce its flagship phone at a separate event. In addition, announcing it a week before could also hint that Samsung may showcase its Galaxy S10 with the specifics of 5G connectivity features at MWC.

According to rumors that we have seen, the Galaxy S10 will feature an in-display hole-punch camera similar to what Samsung has revealed in its Galaxy A8. Following real-looking image of Galaxy S10 was shared by the famous leakster Evan Blass earlier this month with the code name “Beyond 1”.

We are also considering that the year 2019 is going to be the year of same or similar display design. However we have also seen Huawei taking a lead in this notch-less design with the launch of Nova 4 last year.

Another report from WSJ suggests that Samsung will also be presenting its fully-functional foldable phone which has been in-development for very long. In addition the company will announce three models of Galaxy S10 which also second the earlier report by Evan Blass suggesting the three with code names as “Beyond 0” – the cheaper variant of S10, “Beyond 1” – the standard variant, and “Beyond 2” –Galaxy S10 Plus.

Unlike last year when the company’s both Galaxy S9 and Note 9 failed to attract consumers, we can expect Samsung to do some better in 2019 with the new design.
