Tecno launches new entry level POP 2 and POP 2 Pro in Pakistan

Tecno Mobile has launched two new entry level smartphones – POP 2 and POP 2 Pro, under 12k price segment. The Pop 2 is a successor to the last year’s Pop 1 while the new Pro variant succeeds the Pop 1 Pro.

The biggest take and advantage in the pocket of these two phones is Tecno Mobile’s partnership with Google to give it a platform for most advance amongst the list of Android versions.

Both the phones run an Android Oreo System (Go edition) which is specially engineered and optimized to offer the consumers a smooth and much responsive experience and usage on the entry level devices who comparatively have less RAM than mid-level and high end phones.

POP 2 and POP 2 Pro are powered by MediaTek’s MT6580M chipset with quad-core processor clocked at a speed of 1.3 GHz and a Mali-400 MP2 GPU. Both the phones are good for everyday use with calling, texting, social networking, and browsing. However the GPU will handle only graphically less demanding Android games.

Along side, the new POP phones from Tecno have 1GB RAM. Internal storage wise the POP 2 features 8GB memory while the POP 2 Pro comes with 16GB. The POP 2 Pro additionally features a fingerprint sensor which responds in 300 milliseconds.

POP 2 and POP 2 Pro, both come with a 5.5-inch IPS display. The front camera is 8 MP while the Rear camera of Pop 2 has power of 5 MP, and Pop 2 Pro has an 8 MP camera on the back. Both of the rear cameras of POP 2 and POP 2 Pro accompany Auto focus, an HDR mode and a dual flash.

Both the phones are optimized with with Android Go edition of Android 8 Oreo. The POP duo comes with apps installed including Google Go, YouTube Go, and the Google Assistant for Android (Go edition) and an enhanced data efficiency. These apps not only give the users a full command over their choices but tailor them according to what their actual needs. For example YouTube Go offers users the choice of opting video size and quality (between basic, standard and high quality) even before watching extending the liberty to users to have a complete control over their spent data.

These duos have a slim design that makes them not only easy to handle and use but also adds to their uniqueness by encompassing a beautifully designed bezel screen.

Pricing and Availability

The most cheaper Tecno POP 2 is priced at Rs. 9,999 in Pakistan. Whereas with one thousand more, the POP 2 Pro costs Rs. 10,999.

Both are now available in the market in three colors including Midnight Black, Champagne Gold and City Blue.
