Realme has announced the launch of Realme 5 and Realme 5 Pro in Pakistan. Both offer quad-camera setup with different resolutions. Unfortunately, the pricing is rather at the upside with respect to its pricing in other regions.
Realme 5 and Realme 5 Pro, both feature a quad-camera setup with ultra-wide-angle lens, main camera, portrait lens, and ultra macro lens. However, the Pro model has an edge with better and high-resolution cameras.
Realme 5 packs an AI quad-camera setup – 12MP main camera paired and an 8MP secondary camera with 119° ultra-wide-angle lens. There are two other units, each 2MP sensor for portraits and ultra macro shots. On the front, the Realme 5 has a 13MP front camera.
Realme 5 Pro also comes with a quad-camera but with higher-resolution 48MP main camera with Sony IMX586 image sensor that we have been seeing for quite a few months from different companies including OPPO and Vivo. Other three cameras are the same — 8MP ultra-wide-angle, 2MP depth sensor and another 2MP camera with an ultra macro lens. The Realme 5 Pro also has an edge with the front camera that features a 16MP Sony IMX471 sensor for selfies.
The Snapdragon 665 chip is powering the Realme 5 with 2.0GHz octa-core processor and 3rd generation Qualcomm AI Engine. The Realme 5 Pro, on the other hand, is powered by Snapdragon 712 chip with 2.3 GHz octa-core CPU and Adreno 616 GPU. Both the phones have also been equipped with “fireproof protective separation and triple precautions to guarantee battery safety.”
Realme 5 features a 6.5-inch HD+ full-view display that has a so-called “mini-drop” notch on top. The company states that it has enhanced its diamond-cut design with holographic color and reflecting texture. The phone packs with a 5000mAh battery and runs Android 9.0 ColorOS 6.0 operating system.
The Realme 5 Pro has a bit smaller screen with a 6.3-inch FHD+ display and a dew-drop notch on top. It comes with the new “gradient holographic colors and reflecting textures, to achieve a richer layered visual effect.”
Realme 5 Pro comes with a 20-watt VOOC 3.0 fast charging and comes with the compatible VOOC Charger. It also runs the Android 9.0 Pie operating system with ColorOS 6.0.
Update: Another model Realme 5s is now available in Red color.
Realme 5 will be available in two new colors – Crystal Blue and Crystal Purple. It will be available in three memory configurations.
Realme 5 Pro comes in Crystal Green and Sparkling Blue colors. The 5 Pro will be available in 2 memory configurations only.
Realme 5, the cheaper model that costs around $126 in other regions, is priced PKR 24,000 (~$153). On the other hand, the Realme 5 Pro 8GB variant costs around $238 but in Pakistan, it’s priced PKR 44,000 (~$281).
