Huawei Y9a Official in Pakistan – Pre-Orders Start From September 14

Recently speculated Huawei Y9a has been officially announced in Pakistan as the pre-orders of the new smartphone are set to kick off on September 14, 2020. The early birds will get a Huawei Band 4 for free if they book the new Huawei Y9a before it ships.

The phone has a notch-less display with a 6.63-inch screen with 92% screen-to-body ratio. With no notch, the front camera goes into a pop-up module like many other brands or even Huawei has offered previously. The screen comes with the LCD IPS display and Full HD resolution of 2400×1800 pixels.

Under the hood, Huawei Y9a is powered by MediaTek’s gaming chipset, Helio G80 with an octa-core processor and a dual-core Mali G52 MC2 GPU. The Helio G80 CPU is based on 2 Cortex-A75 cores clocked at 2.0GHz and 6 Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 1.8GHz. Besides, there is an 8GB of RAM and a 128GB of internal storage. MicroSD card is not supported but for memory expansion, there is a support of Huawei’s proprietary NM SD Card up to 256GB.

Huawei Y9a, like a few other Huawei devices this year, does not support Google Mobile Services (GMS). It instead comes with its own ecosystem of Huawei Mobile Services (HMS). The phone runs on Android 10 core with Huawei EMUI 10.1. For applications and games installation, you will have Huawei AppGallery instead of the Google Play store. Check out our detailed overview of that in the Huawei Y6p review.

Huawei Y9a features a quad-camera setup with 64MP main shooter (f/1.8 aperture) coupled with an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera (f/2.4 lens aperture). There are two more cameras with 2MP sensors each and f/2.4 aperture lens, for depth sensing and super macro mode. There is a 16MP selfie camera on the front with f/2.2 lens aperture.

Huawei Y9a comes with a 4,200 mAh battery and supports 40-watt Huawei SuperCharge that claims 70% charge in 30 minutes. There is another version of the phone with 4,300 mAh battery that supports up to 22.5-watt fast charging, though in Pakistan you will get the former with 4,200 mAh battery and 40W fast charging support.

Price and Availability

Pricing of the phone has not yet been revealed. Expect it to be disclosed on September 14, 2020, when the pre-orders start. Customers will get a Huawei Band 4 worth Rs. 8000 for free on the pre-booking of Huawei Y9a. The phone is officially available in three colours that include Midnight Black, Space Silver, and Sakura Pink, however, it might be shipped in limited colour options in Pakistan or at least in the pre-order phase.
