Huawei Mate 40 Pro is the latest top contender on DxOMark’s List

Huawei launched its latest flagship Huawei Mate 40 series. The announcement revealed the four models – Huawei Mate 40, Mate 40 Pro, Mate 40 Pro+, and Mate 40 RS Porsche Design.

Though the series features impressive camera hardware, The Huawei Mate 40 Pro has already topped DxOMark’s list for both the front and rear cameras.

Huawei Mate 40 Pro scored 136 points in rear camera test by DxOMark, while it scored 104 points in front camera tests. The latest Huawei flagship claimed the first position from Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra and Huawei P40 Pro which are now on number two and number three for rear camera test with 133 and 132 points respectively. Huawei P40 Pro follows on number 2 for selfie tests with 103 points.

Front Camera Features

  • 13MP ultra vision camera, 1/2.8″ sensor, f/2.4, 18mm-equivalent.
  • ToF (Time of Flight) sensor for 3d depth mapping and biometric scanning.
  • Fixed focus camera with display flash
  • 4K video recording at 30fps

DxOMark remarks about Mate 40 Pro as having wide dynamic range even in low light. Excellent texture and noise handling in bright light and indoor conditions. Fast and accurate autofocus for both photo and video. Details are good at most tele-zoom settings. Bokeh mode is good in estimating depth even in complex scenes. Excellent video stabilization and low noise levels on outdoor and indoor video recording. White balance and colour rendering are good on videos.

Huawei Mate 40 Pro Front Camera Scores – DxOMark

The front camera is tested out to take photos with good target exposure and wide dynamic range. Depth of field is wide and focus on the face is good. Noise is controlled well and white balance is also good in low light. Video stabilization is effective while the white balance is good for videos too.
