Samsung has unintentionally embarrassed itself when tweeted a promotional text on Twitter from an iPhone – a smartphone from its rival manufacturer.
The South Korean smartphone maker had been promoting its upcoming Galaxy Unpacked (or Samsung Unpacked) event on the social platform when the Twitter handle under the control of Samsung Mobile’s U.S division posted a promotional teaser from the Apple smartphone.
With #SamsungUnpacked drawing closer, we’re working hard to bring you some exciting news. Which field of innovation and advancement are you hoping to see us reveal?”
– Samsung Mobile US tweeted.
Well, whoever tweeted that text simply used an iPhone which is not so offensive or harmful in any context. In fact, it could be taken as hilarious or even more fruitful for an increase in the broadcast reach of the campaign. This, however, might not be an unforgivable act from a diehard fan’s eyes.
It’s rare that a staff member of the company would do such a little mistake but it is common about brand ambassadors who have occasionally been seen promoting non-Apple products from their iPhones. David Ferrer, a tennis player, for example, used his iPhone to tweet for the promotion of Galaxy S4, back in 2013. Ksenia Sobchak, in 2018, was even sued by the Korean tech giant for using iPhone X to endorse its products online.
Despite little mistakes, we are going to see Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21 Plus, and Galaxy S21 Ultra sooner than later.
