Over 100 million devices upgraded to HarmonyOS 2

Huawei has released several new products on September 13 at the new smart office product launch event. The Huawei MateBook 13s, MateBook 14s, Huawei MateStation X desktop PC, Huawei MateView GT 27 monitor and Huawei PixLab X1 printer. However, during the launch, Huawei announced that the number of users who have upgraded their devices to HarmonyOS 2 has surpassed the 100 million mark.

HarmonyOS 2 was installed at a record-breaking rate after the upgrade being made available on June 2 for over 100 device models including smartphones and tablets. It reached 10 million users just one week after the release. That number rose to 30 million on July 8.

Three months after launch, on September 12th, over 100 million users have upgraded to the company’s proprietary operating system. “No other mobile operating system has ever reached 100 million users in such a short span,” the company mentioned in the press release. Also, note that HarmonyOS reached 90 million users only 10 days ago.

Right now 106 devices have been updated to the HarmonyOS including the phones like Huawei P40 series, Mate 30 series. Even the older smartphone series like P20 and Mate 10 have also been covered. not to mention some from Nova branded smartphones.

It’s worth mentioning here that the current 100 million mark was achieved for the devices that were updated from the existing Android OS to Huawei’s OS. It’s over a year now since when Huawei has been shipping new devices out of the box with HarmonyOS as well as other IoT devices and TVs. Those new devices are not counted in this number.
