Series 40 of Nokia reached an impressive milestone of 1.5 billion sales

Nokia today has announced about an impressive milestones of 1.5 billion sales count of  Series 40 devices. The 1.5 billionth sale of one of the latest Series 40 devices, Nokia Asha 303, was sold to a 21- year old lady in Brazil.

Not to mention that Nokia is fighting the high-end war with bringing innovations like MeeGo in most-praised N9 and getting into Windows Phone OS with its most-appreciated Lumia series, but Series 40 platform of Nokia is what it’s standing on since years. Series 40 devices have been the target of most of the people around the world prefer to purchase low-cost mobile phones.

Nokia 7110, the first Series 40 phone, was manufactured and was brought to the world in 1999.  Since then Series 40 has evolved to such a level that Nokia is calling it ‘Smartphone Lite’. Well this certainly is true at some extent that now a Series 40 device (take Asha 303) is far different than the ones have been since long. Now Series 40 devices have WiFi connectivity, Cloud based services, Nokia Maps, and 1GHz Processors.

Nokia, as already have believed and stated that its plans were to reach next billion customers around the world, continue its strategy of connecting the next billion.

Big congratulations to Nokia and it’s long running Series 40 platform for achieving this milestone of massive sales count.
