So now LG is taking the route via improved camera elements in their smartphones. LG has just published a video demonstration most focused on the 13MP camera module in upcoming LG Optimus G, claiming it owns the world’s best camera module ever found on a smartphone.
Also claiming that it’s the highest-pixel camera module on any smartphone released to date. The exact subtitles are as quoted below
Despite having 13MP camera module, which is the highest-pixel camera module among those mounted on smartphones released to date.
Well! highest-pixel camera in any smartphone? really? If I’ve got the point in the video correctly then I just recalled HTC’s Titan II with 16MP camera and then the most incredible 41MP camera module on Nokia 808 PureView. May be they consider only the “Android” being the smartphone?
Anyway the other things LG has put up in the video are pretty nice to attract. 1/3.06″ type sensor is slightly smaller than but pretty much the same size Nokia has put into recently launched Lumia 920 that is 1/3″ type sensor but LG Optimus G is going to have much smaller pixel-size that’s 1.1μm with other elements as mentioned in detail below.
- 13MP BSI Image Sensor – 1/3.06″ Type Format with 1.1μm pixel size
- 5P Slim Lens
- Blue Glass Filter
- 4KB EEPROM
- Low Power/Slim VCM
