Microsoft announces all the editions of Windows 10

We already know the Windows 10 is going to launch this summer with no exact date revealed yet. Microsoft has thrown another word about the list of editions you will have for the Windows 10 operating system.

Windows 10 Home – is the consumer-focused desktop edition which you have already been familiar with the home editions of Windows in previous versions. Shipping mostly to the computers and laptops at home users with main Windows 10 features such as Cortana, Microsoft Edge web browser, Continuum tablet mode, Windows Hello face-recognition, iris and finger print login.

Windows 10 Mobile – is what we have known Windows Phone OS until now. Microsoft has switched back to the name Windows Mobile and the next version, Windows 10 Mobile will make its way to your Windows Phone devices. The new Windows 10 Mobile will include the features from Windows 10 Home as well as the new touch-optimized version of Office. Windows 10 Mobile will enable some new devices to take advantage of Continuum for phone, so people can use their phone like a PC when connected to a larger screen.

Windows 10 Pro – is also a desktop edition for PCs, laptops and tablets with the features from Windows 10 Home and including many extra features to meet the need of small businesses. Windows 10 Pro will lets customers take advantage of the new Windows Update for Business to reduce management costs, provide controls over update deployment, offer quicker access to security updates and provide access to the latest innovation from Microsoft on an ongoing basis.

Windows 10 Enterprise –  just like other major editions, the enterprise edition will also inherit features from its lower editions as well as adds more advanced features for medium and large scale businesses. But it will be available to the volume licensing customers.

Windows 10 Education – is again an extend edition of Windows 10 Enterprise, which will meet the needs of education sectors including schools and colleges for administration, staff, teachers and students. It will be available to the academic volume licensing. Students running Windows 10 Home and Pro editions may be able to upgrade to Education edition of Windows 10.

Finally Windows 10 Mobile Enterprise, with the enterprise features of Windows 10, this edition will be available to volume licensing customers. While there will be versions of Enterprise and Mobile Enterprise which will serve on the devices like ATMs, retail point of sales, handheld terminals and robotics and Windows 10 IoT Core for small footprint, low cost devices like gateways.
