We have heard the rumors of the next generation Nexus smartphone. IBTimes claims to have confirmed with an employee from Huawei in the UK who is familiar with the company’s plans that the company is working with Google closely on the next Nexus smartphone.

Some may wonder why should Google go with a Chinese manufacturer for their next flagship, but you should really consider the development Huawei, how they have been proceeding with their high-end hardware and quality built devices – the most recent is of course the Huawei P8.

The source to IBTimes is an employee at Huawei in the UK, indeed confirmed that the company was working with Google on the Nexus smartphone which could be shipped later this year running latest version, Android M. However he was unable to talk about the specifics of the device in detail.

Google has previously worked with HTC, LG, Samsung and Motorola to build its Nexus smartphones. We really wonder how Huawei could match the Nexus device’s fame. And if it happens, we believe Huawei is going right way to its competitors.

While there are no specifics on the next Nexus device, Earlier speculations suggest that the next Nexus device will be powered up by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 SoC and will have a 5.7 inch Quad HD display, dropping from 6 inch display on the last year’s Nexus 6.
