Infinix Pakistan held a bloggers meetup in Karachi where they have revealed their upcoming smartphone, the Infinix Zero2. They have been teasing it for a couple of days with the hashtag #TheNextHero.

It’s just a matter of time when the company made its presence in Pakistan by launching its first device in Pakistan with a giant battery of 4000mAh battery, it was Infinix Hot Note X551 – check review.

Design wise, the Zero label is confusing with this device as it’s really good in build quality. It has the back made with the synthetic fiber – Kevlar, used commonly in sports equipment, tyres and other consumer products for its light weight and high resistence. It’s very rare in smartphones – one such phone is the Motorola DROID Ultra.

Kevlar fiber is ultra flexible, highly resistant and 5 times lighter than steel. Commonly used for innovative industry, Kevlar is highly valued for its toughness and can endure high temperature (150 to 160 degree). Kevlar has many applications, ranging from bicycle tires and racing sails to body armor because of its high tensile strength-to-weight ratio; by this measure it is 5 times stronger than steel.

Specially when it comes to phone, it’s one of the best materials to hold in your hands. Its matte finish supports it to not slip from the hands. It’s light in weight but rather tougher than most phones built with plastic. Plus it’s sleek and beautiful in looks.

Along with the Kevlar back, the body is made of aluminium – another light weight tough material of course currently present in most of the devices.

Coming to other major elements of the phone, the Zero2 features a 5 inch Super AMOLED display with HD resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels serving the pixels density of 294 PPI. Don’t think over Super AMOLED, it’s from Samsung officially. With the contrast ratio of 30000:1 the the display is sharp and vivid and it’s protected by Gorilla Glass 3.

On the back it has 13MP camera with f/2.0 lens aperture. It’s the ISOCELL imaging sensor inside. Infinix Zero2 features a 5-megapixel, 85 degree super wide-angle front camera for wider selfies to fit more people in the frame.

The Zero2 is powered  by the MediaTek SoC, MTK 6529 Turbo Octa Core Processor clocked at 2GHz along with a the GPU Mali 450-MP4 (700MHz). It comes with 2GB of RAM and 16GB and 32GB storage options but in Pakistan we’ll have only the later one – 32GB. The micro SD card support is also in there.

The phone will come preloaded with Android 4.4.2 KitKat. But we can tell now that the Android 5.1 Lollipop will be up for that as we have already seen it for Hot Note recently. Plus it comes with a new version 2.0 of Infinix User Interface.

The Zero2 is dual SIM phone offering 2G and 3G capability on both of the SIMs. Design wise, both the SIMs will be placed in the same slot. Supported network frequencies on 2G/GSM are 850/900/1800/1900 MHz. and on 3G/HSDPA, 900/2100 MHz. 4G users will be out of luck with this device. This phone, unlike the Hot Note, will only give you the 2300mAh capacity of the battery.

Once available, in addition to the phone, the retail package will contain micro USB charger with multi plug options, stereo earphones, USB data/connectivity cable, and a SIM eject tool.

On 28th July, yes today the company is going to launch the device officially in Pakistan while the availability may take around a week. Hopefully the price will be disclosed during the launch but our estimate is around PKR. 16000/- after looking at their Hot Note price which is only Rs. 12,900/-

The Zero2 will be available in Milan Black, Purple Red, and Golden colors.

Well we have told you about their previous device how much caliber that device was, the Zero2 also impressed us with its build quality as briefed. We are looking forward to test this phone too soon.
