Xperia C5 Ultra and Xperia M5 – Sony’s new camera-centric phones with 13MP front-facing camera

Sony has announced two new mid-range devices focusing camera and imaging specifics. The two devices are the Xperia C5 Ultra and Xperia M5. For some who love to take selfies, these devices are definitely interesting as both are featuring the first-time 13MP front facing cameras for super quality selfies.

The Xperia C5 Ultra is a large phone with 6 inch display and has the 13 megapixels primary camera on the back too while the Xperia M5 is boosting with a 21.5 megapixels primary camera on the back and only has the 5 inch display. Both the phones will be serving at full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels.

Sony Xperia C5 Ultra

Xperia C5 Ultra is packed with an aluminium frame and offers a premium design. The phone comes in three colour variations, including black, white and a glossy soft mint.

In addition to the 6 inch display and dual 13MP cameras, the Xperia C5 Ultra features a 1.7GHz octa-core processor, 2GB of RAM, 16 GB of internal storage, a 2930 mAh battery and supports 4G connectivity. Xperia C5 Ultra is a dual SIM phone and also has a microSD slot support up to 200GB. The display of Xperia C5 Ultra features IPS panel with Mobile BRAVIA Engine 2 with 1080p resolution.

Both cameras on back and front include Sony’s Exmor RS sensor, for HDR picture and video. Selfies are also enhanced with the integration of Sony’s enhanced Selfie Flash that supports the front camera and lightens up more of the frame. The device’s 22mm wide-angle lens also means that you can fit more in the frame.

Sony Xperia M5

Xperia M5 comes packed in a waterproof design and higher camera module with 21.5 megapixels on the back with support of 5x Clear Image Zoom without loosing quality – as claimed by Sony. It captures 4K video with its primary camera and provides the same 13 MP camera on the front like C5 Ultra. Front facing camera is also autofocus and supports full HD video recording.

Xperia M5 sports 5 inch Full HD IPS display with Mobile BRAVIA Engine 2. The M5 is powered by 64-bit 2.0 GHz Octa-core processor on the MediaTek Helio X10 SoC with 3GB of RAM. 16GB of storage capacity is inside and with micro SD card it supports up to 200GB. It comes with 2600 mAh battery capacity.

While the Xperia M5 is waterproof and dust-tight, it comes with a capless USB port for added convenience and easy charging. The M5 comes in three colours including gold, silver and black.

Both the models will be available in Single and Dual SIM variants. Xperia C5 Ultra and Xperia M5 will be available in selected countries across emerging markets from mid August.
