Uber confirms plans to launch in Pakistan with vacancies open in Lahore

Uber Transport services are soon to start in Lahore, Pakistan as the company is building up a team in city of Lahore.

Uber, an American company with international transportation network, which develops and markets as well as operates the Uber mobile app allowing consumers with smartphones to submit a trip request with a pickup and drop locations. The most suitable, usually nearest Uber driver then reaches the passenger on their pickup location to take him/her.

We can confirm we are currently recruiting for a team in Lahore, and are very excited about launching in Pakistan as we see huge potential in the way we can help people move around their city safely and reliably.

We are also excited about the opportunity for economic empowerment we can bring to the drivers we partner with.

The recent activity which of announcement of three job vacancies in Lahore, Pakistan from the company were listed on their website – the call is for general manager, marketing manager and operations & logistics in Lahore.

Uber, yet a private transport company was operating in 58 countries and 300 cities worldwide as by May 2015, has not disclosed any date when the company will start operations in Pakistan while we believe it will be as soon as their management completes in the capital city of Punjab.

Timing could be a very beneficial factor for the company to launch in Pakistan as combined subscribers of 3G and 4G in the country has recently crossed 18 million according to PTA. Well from other point of view that could also be the reason the company thought start in such growing market of smartphone internet subscribers nationwide.

On the hand, the company also aims to raise a $1 billion investment while in another round of funding Uber could raise as much as $70 billion according to Time of India.

If you are not familiar with, the Uber services offer drivers with their own cars to pickup the passenger from their location and drop on their destination point.
