Netflix has surprised the world by having launched its internet TV services simultaneously in more than 130 new countries worldwide including Pakistan.

With the vast variety of TV shows and movies online, the giant Internet TV network made this announcement during a keynote by the Co-Founder and CEO Reed Hastings at this year’s CES event which is currently going on. Interestingly, the services went live right along with the announcement covering more than 190 countries across the globe.

The CEO, Hastings said during his keynote.

Today you are witnessing the birth of a new global Internet TV network. With this launch, consumers around the world — from Singapore to St. Petersburg, from San Francisco to Sao Paulo — will be able to enjoy TV shows and movies simultaneously — no more waiting.

He also added

With the help of the Internet, we are putting power in consumers’ hands to watch whenever, wherever and on whatever device.”

A few of the countries getting Netflix for the first time include India, Vietnam, Singapore, Indonesia, Turkey, Saudi Arabia and most importantly Pakistan. Checkout the list of countries where Netflix has started its services.

Interestingly, one big country is missing from this vast coverage of Netflix – that is China which is the largest market when you look at the internet users. The company has hopes to cover it soon after having Govt. permit or license to launch in the country.

Netflix will not yet be available in China, though the company continues to explore options for providing the service. It also won’t be available in Crimea, North Korea and Syria due to U.S. government restrictions on American companies.

If you want to read more about the announcement, you can hit the source link after the break. I just want to add here some more important things which may be of interest for most of you. The Netflix services come in three plans:
