Failed – Nikon marketing advert shows a Fujifilm X100

A Nikon advert flyer or poster is just going to be viral which shows a pair of glasses intended as sporting Nikon lenses alongside what we see, appears to be the Fujifilm X100 digital camera. Between the two elements written is “I See Our Heritage Through Nikon Spectacle Lenses”.

There sure are marketing strategies which actually suppose to deliver something else but what impacts more is how people perceive them in reality. However it’s just another percepective to excuse for some advertising experts, what actually it is, it’s showing other brand in an advert.

The photographer David McDonalds came across the advertisement while at Camera/Opticians in Belfast, Northern Ireland.

Mirrorless Rumors writes it as it could be a bipolar disorder of Nikon marketing department who just showed a Fujifilm camera on their advert with the text “I see our heritage”.

Another quick thorough  look over Google, the poster is found to be a crop of a stock photograph from shutterstock. Well, stock photos can be found easily on the web today which in fact are very useful in many situation. But for advertisement? that too for a camera? It’s best to check again what have you collected from the internet. However for an advertising agency, their job is to design themselves but not to collect other designs.
