Snapchat introduces Spectacles – The Goggles Cam

Having worked for a few years – as stated, Snapchat has developed “Spectacles” – a new type of camera in the goggles. This is the first piece of hardware, the photo sharing platform has ever introduced.

Snap’s Spectacles are sunglasses with an integrated video camera that makes it easy to record a snippet video clip of surroundings and share to Snapchat. The set of glasses connects directly to the app via Bluetooth or WiFi and transfer clips in the new circular video format.

The camera on the Spectacles equips with a 115-degree lens which according to the company is approximately close to a person’s field of vision. It makes the camera able to record circular video that is then shared over at the photo sharing app.

“Circular video plays full screen on any device, in any orientation, and captures the human perspective with a 115 degree field of view. We can’t wait for you to see it!”

We’ve created one of the smallest wireless video cameras in the world, capable of taking a day’s worth of Snaps on a single charge, and we integrated it seamlessly into a fun pair of sunglasses – available in 3 different colors!

Spectacles will be available sooner before the new-year and a pair of glasses will cost $130 only with the camera on it.
