Xiaomi Mi Note 2 – Official with Snapdragon 821, 3D Curved Glass

Xiaomi has launched Mi Note 2 which has most of the features from the late Galaxy Note 7 from Samsung. It has 3D curved glass on the front as well as the same curved design on the back.

5.7 inch screen has the OLED display which is curved at both sides and yes it’s also flexible panel. The screen serves with 1080p Full HD resolution instead of QHD covering 77.2% portion of the front side with display (screen-to-body ratio).

Inside, the phone is powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 821 SoC with four Kyro CPU cores max clocked at 2.35GHz, coupled with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. Another variant is also available with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The phone is featuring LPDDR4 RAM, UFS 2.0 storage and is backed by a 4070mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0.

Xiaomi seems not to be interested working with dual-camera setups as various manufacturers have already adapted. However Mi Note 2 features Sony IMX318 image sensor with 22.56 megapixels camera and f/2.0 lens on rear side which also has EIS (digital stabilization) for video recording capable of working altogether with 4K footage.

The camera brings features like hybrid PDAF and contrast autofocus with dual-tone LED flash as well as proprietary long-exposure technologies to perform better in low-light. Mi Note 2 has a dedicated 3-axis gyroscope for with camera which is claimed to to provide excellent jitter compensation in real-time.

Mi Note 2 features 8MP front facing camera with a Sony IMX268 image sensor which also is an autofocus camera unlike many other front cameras which are fixed focus with f/2.0 lens . Kodak Ektra smartphone also features an autofacus camera on the front.

In connectivity, Mi Note 2 features global LTE support across 6 network types covering 37 bands in total. The phone features a high-precision GPS module as well as it supports NFC which is fully functional with P2P communications which include NFC payments, reading, writing and card emulations.

Mi Note 2 will also be available in Glacier Silver color in addition to Piano Black.

Xiaomi Mi Note 2 will be available in two variant where the most expensive will have 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. It will cost CNY 3299 (approx $485 or PKR. 48,000/-) in China where it will feature limited LTE bands which are needed there. The global version of the same variant will come with a bundle of LTE bands and will cost CNY 3499 (approx. $520 or PKR. 52,000/-). Another variant will feature 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage and is priced at CNY 2799 (approx. $413 or PKR. 42,000/-)
