Nokia 8 allegedly Leaked – high-end phone with Snapdragon 835 and 821, Expected on MWC 2017

A recent video clip, recorded from Qualcomm’s booth at CES 2017, is allegedly featuring two variants of Nokia 8, with Snapdragon 835 and Snapdragon 821. There were no name labels on the devices but “Qualcomm Snapdragon” branding.

It’s believable that Qualcomm was showcasing its latest Snapdragon 835 at CES 2017. As the video suggests, the presenter was referring to the EIS in the camera of the device along side another device with old processor – Snapdragon 821. While people were not allowed to take photos of these two devices, one guy absolutely snapped them out.

Update: More hands-on pictures added

After having HMD announced Nokia 6, the new naming convention of the Nokia devices is pretty revealed. Assuming that, these leaked devices in the footage are named as Nokia 8 with high-end specifications. Another hint about the name is also considerable that all previous camera centric devices from Nokia (pre-Microsoft) had the digit “Eight” in their names. e.g. the latest Nokia N8, Nokia 808 PureView.

According to report, if the rumors to be believe, Nokia 8 will be available in two variants as apparent in the video – with Snapdragon 825 and 821. A high-end version and a little less expensive model respectively. Both will be featuring stereo speakers on front side.

The high-end Nokia 8 will reportedly feature a 6GB RAM with 64GB or 128GB internal storage as well as the microSD card slot option will be available. 24 megapixel camera on the rear side will equip with both optical and electronic image stabilization (OIS + EIS) while on the front there will be a 12 megapixel for selfies.

The other variant of the phone with Snapdragon 821 will reportedly be running with 4GB of RAM. There are no details about the storage and the camera with this variant available yet but you can see them both in the video below – if they are really true to the words.

When looking at the phones – sure in the video above, some elements can be identified as the navigation keys are on-screen. The top and bottom of the devices are occupied with speaker grills – dual speakers as mentioned before.

The rear side of the phones were not recorded with the video at once but the guy probably did try to capture stills from the back of the devices and appended into the video – you can see at the end of the video. Evaluating the two, front and rear sides of phones in the video, I can tell they are legit but no one can yet tell if they are actually Nokia 8 or any Nokia upcoming devices.

There is no mention of the Carl Zeiss  branding on the cameras as the earlier reports have suggested about high-end Nokia Android smartphones will feature those Zeiss lenses long-related with Nokia. however HRM on the camera module on the back is being referred to as Heart Rate Monitor.

Let me tell you that; just take it as a rumor as I personally don’t believe it and if it comes out as just a leak which doesn’t have to do anything with Nokia, it will be another push to the brand name that has just reborn in Android. So just take it with a pinch of salt and wait what HMD has actually got for you at MWC 217.
