Hands-on with TECNO Phantom 6 and Phantom 6 Plus – Quick Review

TECNO Phantom 6 Plus

TECNO launched its six devices yesterday in Pakistan with distribution partner United Mobile. We did some hands-on with the four lower mid-range devices W3, W5, L8 Lite and Camon C7.

Here we bring the remaining two, the upper mid-range devices Phantom 6 and Phantom 6 Plus. Taking in mind that the most expensive phone among these will be around PKR. ~40,000/- you can consider the Phantom 6 Plus to cost that much. While you can expect Phantom 6 around ~28,000/-

Phantom 6

A mixture of plastic, metal and glass, Phantom 6 is bigger with 5.5-inch AMOLED display serving at the resolution of 1920×1080 pixels across. The phone is powered by 2.0GHz Octa-core processor that works with 3GB of RAM. Internal storage is 32GB with microSD card support up to 128GB.

Phantom 6 carries a dual-camera configuration on the back with a 13 megapixel + 5 megapixel. On the front there is an 8 megapixel camera as well with a wide-angle lens.

The phone also runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow but is backed by only 2700mAh battery. Phantom 6 supports 4G/LTE connectivity but has no fingerprint scanner like many do today.

The phone sports volume rocker and the power button on the right side while on the left there is a SIM slot for dual-SIM cards. A dedicated microSD card slot is also provided along with the SIM slot. Down below there is speaker grill and micro USB port. 3.5mm audio jack is on the top.

The phone has moderate bezels around and on top and bottom while the phone serves with on-screen navigation keys.

The back side of the phone is rough patterned metal with a slight curve. The phone has two cameras on the back marketed as now-famous dual-camera with dual-LED flash.

Phantom 6 Plus

All metal body with glass on the front, Phantom 6 Plus is bigger with 6-inch LTPS display serving at the resolution of 1920×1080 pixels across. The phone is powered by 2.0GHz Deca-core processor and got support of with 4GB RAM. Internal storage is 64GB also with microSD card support up to 128GB.

There is 21 megapixel main camera on the back while, Phantom 6 Plus also carries an 8 megapixel camera on the front with flash. The phone features a fingerprint scanner too.

Unfortunately, this bigger phone also runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow but has impressive 4050mAh battery. Phantom 6 Plus also supports 4G/LTE connectivity and has no fingerprint scanner.

Like usual, Phantom 6 Plus also hosts volume rocker and the power button on the right side. SIM slot for dual-SIM cards is on the left side. It’s an hybrid slot for microSD card when you don’t need to use two SIM cards at once. Speaker grill and micro USB port is down below and 3.5mm audio jack is on the top.

Phantom 6 Plus has pretty much narrow bezels even on the top and bottom. The navigation keys are on-screen while the upper portion hosts common earpiece a front-facing camera but with an LED flash along with sensors.

On the back you can see antenna stripes on top and bottom portions. 21 megapixel camera is on the upper side with a dual-LED flash beneath it. A fingerprint scanner is also hosted on the back side blow the camera.

You can expect Phantom 6 to cost around PKR. ~28,000/- and Phantom 6 Plus around PKR. ~40,000/-
