Facebook globally rolls out Instant Games on Messenger, with New Features and Games

Facebook Instant Games on Messenger

In a recent announcement, Facebook has started rolling out its Instant Games on Messenger more broadly for the 1.2 billion people who use Messenger every month.

In addition to the availability expansion, Facebook also has added new features to the online gaming platform which were previewed to developers at this year’s F8 conference earlier. Users will not be able to experience these new features as long as developers incorporate these features into their games.

New features, in Instant Games, include “Rich Gameplay” that will allow developers to create customized experiences with turn-based game operations – the most requested feature as Facebook refers. This will be presented into leader boards and tournaments.

Another feature “Game Bot” is introduced to developers which will help them provide exciting new features to the game players such as new levels and rewards. “When developers start to take advantage of these new capabilities everyone wins with more dynamic and engaging gaming experiences.” – states Facebook.

Facebook has also reported that the “Words With Friends” by Zynga (below-left), is one of the first games to incorporate rich gameplay features. The game now features turn-based operations on Messenger.

Blackstorm’s EverWing (above-right), on the other hand, is among the first to use Game bots feature.

There are now up to 50 games available on Messenger depending on your device and your region. Facebook will add more game titles every week to Instant Games, with the world’s top pool game — Miniclip’s 8 Ball Pool, coming soon.
