WhatsApp has started rolling out “Sharing All File Types”

WhatsApp Feature

After about a year allowing file sharing over WhatsApp in addition to photos and videos that supported only document files, now the popular instant messaging service will support sharing any kind of file over the service.

You are currently able to share many things on WhatsApp whether it’s an image, a video, audio, or a location. WhatsApp added documents or text files including csv, doc, docx, pdf, ppt, pptx, rtf, txt, xls, xlsx into the shareable content on the app. Now you will be able to share more kind of files, if not all, via WhatsApp.

According to a report by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp will now allow you to share any type of files as long as they are under 128MB on iOS and 100MB on Android.

The max out file size limit will also allow you to send un-compressed images or even short video clips. However it’s suggested that a specified limit of 128MB or 100MB are respect to change positively or negatively.

In addition, it’s disclosed that you even will be able to share APK files over WhatsApp on Android once the feature is available to you. The Web and Desktop versions of WhatsApp will also get the feature but the max files size limit will reportedly be 64MB.

The feature is currently limited to a set of users – probably not even to all beta users. Expect the feature to reach out to general users sooner or later.
