Nokia’s latest Android devices are releasing one by one worldwide as where Nokia 3, 5 and 6 have been launched, some have yet to see the availability of Nokia 6 or even the Nokia 5. The latter is about go on sale in Pakistan.
Update: July 25th
HMD Global, the licensee of the popular mobile brand name “Nokia” for next ten years, launched three Android devices earlier this year – Nokia 3, 5, and 6 in the lower and mid-range segments along with the remake of Nokia 3310 which mostly referred to be as nostalgia.
Customers, in Pakistan, have seen and yet bought Nokia 3310 and Nokia 3 in loyalty with the brand. Both of the devices were launched mid last month (Nokia 3, Nokia 3310) in the country. Now Nokia 5 is just ready to launch in the Pakistan market.
According to sources, Nokia 5 – the second in Android line from HMD, will be launched on July 25th, July 26th, 2017. The price as we learnt from the source is also around our initial estimate which was PKR. 21,000. But we believe Nokia 5 may cost you around Rs. 22,500/- in Pakistan.
Update: Our source confirmed that Nokia 5 will be announced on July 26th and will cost PKR 21,900/- if everything go by plans.
For your interest, these new Nokia Android devices will be receiving Android O software update, as officially announced last month by HMD Global. These Nokia devices are already bound to receive monthly security patches as they are released by Google – thanks to the stock Android experience HMD chose to give to its users. The wonderful fact is that the developers in Pakistan will now have to spend nearly only half (or even lesser) of the amount which they usually used to buy Nexus or Pixel devices.
