Honor 9 unveiled in Eggshell Blue Color, aka Blue Bird

Announced in June first in China, Honor 9 – successor to Honor 8, was later launched in international markets in July. It was available in four colors initially – Black, Seagull Gray, Charm Sea Blue, Amber Gold.

Huawei has unveiled a new color option for Honor 9, Eggshell Blue or Robin-Egg Blue – previously been reported as Blue Bird.

Previously, some leaked render images have allegedly shown Honor 9 in three more funky colors – Yellow, Peach Pink or Red, and Orange. Interestingly, Huawei indeed revealed another color but it’s not one of the three we’ve seen earlier in leaks.

Just put the rumored three colors aside and forget if they are fake or real. Huawei itself has shown extensive interest in providing various fancy colors on its devices. Such as Huawei P10 in greenery color, Honor V9 (aka Honor 8 Pro) is also available in Navy Blue and Red color options. They are quite appealing indeed.

So expecting any color on any Huawei device isn’t a bad idea. In fact this new blue color – call it the Eggshell Blue, is attractive and cool to look at. We also haven’t seen a color such as this ever on any device. However the white front with that blue on the back doesn’t seem to be making a good contrast – at least in pictures.

Specifications wise, the new Eggshell Blue or Robin-Egg Blue color variant has the same features as the original Honor 9 variants. However it will be available in only 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage.

Honor 9 will go on sale from August 16 in China at vmall.com, Sunning, JD.com, and TMall. The cost of the Robin Blue Honor 9 will also be the same as other color variants. It will sell for ¥2699 (~$405)
