Nokia 3 finally starts receiving Android 7.1.1 Nougat Update

Nokia 3 Android 7.1.1 Nougat Update

HMD Global launched the trio – Nokia 3, 5 and Nokia 6 earlier this year. Whereas Nokia 5 and 6 were running Android 7.1.1 Nougat software out-of-the-box, Nokia 3 was at Android 7.0. But Nokia had promised to push the update by the end of August. Only a little later, but it’s here.

It’s not a something important to jump from 7.0 to 7.1 or 7.1.1 but it shows the dedication of HMD Global, how it’s keeping promises to the loyal fans of Nokia. Even when the Nokia 3 was on 7.0, it’s worth mentioning that the phone was receiving regular monthly security patches.

While we said, it’s not that important but there sure are some features that Android 7.1.1 brings to your phone. Examples are the GIFs and Emojis that you can send right from your keyboard whenever supported by an app. Shortcut actions of apps directly from the app icon on home screen or in the launcher.

HMD Global has also promised that all – Nokia 3, 5 and 6 will be receiving Android 8 Oreo. Sooner or later, we don’t know yet. But keep your trust with your favorite brand, they surely have kept their first promise with rolling out the software update for Nokia 3.

Usually if your phone has an active internet connection, you will get a notification automatically. But if you don’t, you can always check for the update manually by going through Settings > About phone > System update to check for new updates. Let us know if you received it or not yet.
