Camera Samples iPhone X, iPhone 8, 8 Plus

Apple unveiled its 10th anniversary iPhone, much-hyped iPhone X brings a number of features such as thin bezels all around but its dual-camera is claimed to do many exciting things. Apple announced the standard iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus models along with the same rear camera – single unit on the 8 and dual-camera setup on 8 Plus.

iPhone X sports dual-camera configurations on the back, There’s a regular 12MP sensor with a wide-angle f/1.8 lens aperture and a second 12MP unit features 2x zoom telephoto lens with f/2.4 aperture. Both the camera units have optical image stabilization as well.

“We integrated faster, optically image-stabilized cameras with the advanced machine learning of the A11 Bionic chip,” Apple said. “The result is a photography system that sees more, understands more, and does more.”

Camera Samples – iPhone X TrueDepth 7MP Front Camera

The TrueDepth camera is the whole system of the iPhone X which hosts a number of cameras and sensors for new capabilities, like Face ID. The system also houses a 7-megapixel front facing camera which, with the help of system, enables the phone to take selfies with Portrait Mode (blurred background). That’s not however something new, bokeh featured selfies were introduced with Huawei’s Mate 10 but the front-camera on iPhone X, as it sounds, should take great quality portrait selfies with the help of TrueDepth camera system.

“The TrueDepth camera, along with the A11 Bionic chip, captures the photo and creates this effect with the tap of a finger,” Apple claims. The same system also allows the iPhone X. The TrueDepth Camera on iPhone X also supports Portrait mode, Portrait Lighting and the Animoji – read more about them.

iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus – 12MP Camera

iPhone 8 Plus features similar 12MP dual-camera configuration as of iPhone X. With all those features including the optical image stabilizer and 2x telephoto zoom camera with additional 6x digital zoom. Standard iPhone 8, on the other hand, only has a single unit of 12MP camera but that also supports similar features apart from the ones enabled by the second telephoto zoom camera.

Both the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus have similar 7-megapixel front-facing cameras but they are not that much capable to perform like iPhone X. They don’t have all those sensors and accompanying cameras on the front, hence they do not support Portrait mode, Portrait lighting or Animoji.
