These are High-Resolution Google Pixel 2/XL Camera Samples

During the span of year 2016 and 2017, we have seen over a dozen smartphones which featured a new concept of camera that we know as dual-camera setup. Almost all the brands have now joined the bandwagon of dual-camera configuration. Even though the manufacturers involved in making Google’s Pixel smartphone have done with the two camera approach before but the new Pixel 2 still prefers to stay with traditional single camera unit.

Well, why not? dual-camera is not a guarantee to produce excellent photographs. Even most of those dozen smartphones with dual-cam setups struggle to produce any better images. On the other hand, when the original Pixel smartphone of last year with its single camera occupied the top spot of DxOMark’s best smartphone camera among the dual-cam masters.

I can safely say, when all the manufacturers were joining in together with their own different kind of dual-camera setups, Google was working with what it has expertise; the software. They have been working to improve their imaging algorithms so much passionately. Did you see how Florian Kainz, a software engineer at Google, experimented with smartphones to take extra ordinary shots?

Innovation is what you do in your own way and Google is doing it right, by not just following other brands. Last year it introduced us to the best smartphone camera as rated by DxOMark, currently the only credible camera testing experts. Google Pixel, last year scored 89 – the highest at that time. This year, when all the phone makers had shown their cards (Huawei is left with its Mate 10 though), Google once again grabbed its number one spot on DxOMark’s ranking. They also used the fact in their launch event.

Even though DxOMark’s recently published review results have gone into controversies as every next flagship came to be on top. Specially the results of those smartphones which they had an opportunity to test prior to the official launch. Original Pixel, then HTC’s U11 and recently Apple’s iPhone 8 siblings, these all were sitting on top when released.

Pixel 2 is just another addition to the bunch of these smartphones which the company had given to photographers (not to mention DxOMark). So until we get a chance to try this smartphone, you better have a look on the following sample shots. Some of these shots have been published on their respective author’s social media accounts even before the launch with the hash tag #TeamPixel. However these photos never revealed the actual camera information. But these photos were published on official Google blog during last month.
