With very fewer objections, Huawei P20 Pro has now obtained the top spot from the camera experts at DxOMark with the score of 109, followed by Huawei P20 at the second spot with the score of 102.
In most recent years, we have seen every next flagship smartphone goes through the lab and real life camera test from DxOMark. Huawei P20 and P20 Pro has been no different in that regard. They also maintained the most recent trend of the experts reporting top scores from every next flagship they try.
With an overall score of 109, Huawei P20 Pro took the top spot from Galaxy S9 Plus that previously topped with an overall score of 99. Google Pixel 2 and iPhone X now follow at fourth and and fifth positions suddenly from second and third.
There was a good chance for P20 to perform really good with its significantly improved camera system. Specially the P20 Pro with its unique Tri-Cam configuration. The P20 Pro gathered the score of 114 in photo department whereas it scored 98 in video department.
It’s worth mentioning here that P20 Pro comes with the first ever triple camera system that uses physically large (in smartphones) 1/1.73″ type sensor with its main 40MP RGB sensor. That’s combined with another monochrome sensor that’s a 1/2.78″ type sensor. The third telephoto camera also turned out to be best in delivering zooming quality compared to others.
Huawei P20, on the other hand, has pretty much common dual-camera system. It also does not carry the prominent 40MP camera of the Pro model. Still it’s improved on its previous iteration and Mate 10’s camera performance. Yet it could impress the folks at DxOMark and managed to receive an overall score of 102 (107 for photo, 94 for video)
