With the launch of a new World Cup campaign, Vivo also launched a special edition of its X21 UD smartphone – the Vivo X21 FIFA World Cup 2018 Extraordinaire Edition. The smartphone will be available in two colors, Blue and Red.
Vivo previously has launched a special edition of X20 smartphone in December with just a World Cup logo on the back. However the new X21 one has more fancy and attractive look with four-dimensional gradient printed pattern on the back panel. In addition the 3D logo of FIFA World Cup 2018 is also present on the back.
The World Cup Edition of X21 is mostly similar from inside as the original X21, featuring a 6.28-inch display with 19:9 aspect ratio and Full-HD+ resolution with 2280 x 1080 pixels. Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 mobile platform is paired with Adreno 512 GPU, 6GB of RAM and 128GB internal storage. Battery capacity is 3,200mAh and it supports fast charging.
The X21 Extraordinaire Edition features a dual camera setup of a primary 12-megapixel unit with f/1.8 aperture and a secondary 5-megapixel camera with with f/2.4 aperture. The phone also features a 12-megapixel camera with f/2.0 aperture on the front.
Special Changes in the Special Edition
Running Android 8.1 Oreo operating system, the phone is featuring the custom version of FunTouch OS 4.0. The smartphone comes with a customized user interface with red, blue and gold accents to reflect the specially designed edition. In addition, the X21 special edition will come with custom World Cup wallpapers and a custom Dusha font.
The phone also features an under-display fingerprint sensor which has a specially designed new visual effect will be present for unlocking interface. Vivo has added Jovi – the company’s proprietary smart assistant based artificial intelligence. It will provide World Cup game previews, live links and notification/alarm for the gameplay.
Special Shell Cases
Vivo will be offering a limited edition of custom-made protective shell cases for the Vivo X21 FIFA World Cup 2018 Extraordinaire Edition, to represent Germany, Argentina, Brazil, and Portugal. The company has used layered water paste printing and a matt UV topcoat process to build these shell cases. Vivo claims it creates strong color impact and excellent texture.
Pricing and Availability
The Vivo X21 FIFA World Cup 2018 Extraordinaire Edition is priced at 3,698 Yuan (or approximately $581). The Blue variant will go on pre-order from May 22nd, and will be available from May 26th in China. The Red variant, on the other hand, will be available from June 1st. There is no word about availability in other regions yet. We, here in Pakistan, haven’t seen the original X21 launch yet, so you can hold tight for the simultaneous launch.
