Update, December 25, 2018: Xiaomi’s Pocophone has just launched is a new version of the Pocophone F1. As expected, the new model is the Armoured Edition with Kevlar finish in 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. Original only the 8GB/256GB variant was available in Kevlar finish.
The new model is priced 23,999 rupees in India and will be available from Mi store and Flipkart starting December 26th. Availability of the new model of Pocophone F1 in other markets is yet unknown.
Original post – December 24, 2018: Xiaomi’s Pocophone F1 has stunned the markets globally with its unbeatable price and the powerpack features this year. The company is now about to bring something new, they are calling it the New Poco.
The Pocophone, called Poco in India, has just got its first iteration with the F1 later this year. Could this even be possible that the company would bring a successor to the phone just within a few months?
Well you must relax yourself from expecting any kind of successor to phone.The #NewPoco could be a more healthier variant of Pocophone F1 or it may have some special design edition. It’s really not a good idea to announce the next iteration with a same processor, specially when the first had hit the market with its extravaganza Snapdragon 845. Expect not to see a Pocophone F2 with anything less than Snapdragon 855.
If you are thinking why so hype when there couldn’t a real upgrade coming up, then it’s simple. It’s the same hype that initially Pocophone F1 brought up to the community. Then if you have been following the news around Pocophone F1, Ishan Agarwal – a leakster, earlier shared a Kevlar Black variant of Pocophone F1 supposedly bundled with 6GB+64GB and 6GB+128GB memory/storage options. Initially the Kevlar black finish of the phone was only available with 8GB+128GB model.
The Pocophone F1 is powered by Snapdragon 845 processor clocked at 2.8GHz coupled with Adreno 630 GPU. The phone comes with 6GB or 8GB RAM and comes in three storage variants including 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB. You get three bundles to choose from – 6GB+64GB, 6GB+128GB, or 8GB+128GB.
Pocophone F1 has 6.18-inch display with 1080p resolution. The phone is backed by a massive 4000 mAh battery too and supports Quick Charge 3.0 over USB Type-C.
