Vivo has been known for being too innovative recently with its futuristic smartphone features. The features, which were not left to die before actually making its way to consumers’ hands.
What’s believed to be the next is the fully smooth phone with no buttons or ports at all.
The smartphone, due to be announced in just two days, was recently teased officially by Vivo with the launch date disclosed as January 24th. The company shared the an image with a caption ‘Natural Perfection’ on its facebook page.
The APEX 2019 is also reported to have an improved in-display fingerprint scanner deployed over a larger screen area.
The company recently started a campaign where it offered people to touch the unknown/unseen thing in a black box and tell what they felt. As they couldn’t see it, they referred it to be like a “Metal Soap” or a “Giant Pebble”. A few more enthusiasts felt it to be like a smartphone though.
According to recent leaks and reports, the phone codenmaed “The Waterdrop” has a curved design without display notch or bezels. The phone, expected to offer gesture based navigation and pressure-based integration, will have no physical buttons or ports.
5G Ready and Water Resistance
Chinese media has reported that being the first commercial phone from Vivo, the APEX 2019 will also be 5G ready. In addition the phone will be supporting super-fast wireless charging technology – well that’s obvious if we don’t have physical ports. You can just guess as well that the phone will be fully waterproof and dust resistant.
Improved In-Display Fingerprint Sensor
As mentioned above already, APEX 2019 is also reported to have an improved In-Display Fingerprint scanner, deployed over the bottom half of the screen.
No Selfie-Camera?
Apparently, no it doesnt’ seem to have a front-facing camera. However in today’s age, you shouldn’t really expect that. With all that futuristic features, we can still expect Vivo to integrate it through other ways. We have witnessed the company’s Dual-Display Edition of Vivo NEX smartphone, right? Who knows the company has a surprise to tell on the launch event? We’ll see that in just two days.
Launch/Release Date
The company has already disclosed the date of launch for its APEX 2019. The smartphone in subject will be announced in China on January 24th. The global announcement is expected to be at the MWC set to kick off next month.
