Vivo S1 with In-Display Fingerprint Sensor available for pre-orders in Pakistan

Vivo S1 Pakistan launch

Vivo has been teasing for a few days about something “S” in select regions including Pakistan. It was already reported to be the new S-series, Vivo is set to debut globally. Now the company has officially revealed it with the first installment in the series, Vivo S1 in Pakistan.

The new Vivo S1 is now available for per-orders in major mobile phone markets nationwide. The phone costs PKR 49,999/- in Pakistan and going on shelves from 25th July. The early birds who pre-book the new Vivo S1 will get exclusive Vivo gifts.

Vivo S1 was first launched in China a few months ago along with the S1 Pro. A variant of the phone made its entry in Indonesia market with same name but rather different features. The similar variations are expected in further global markets. Hence the pricing may differ from one region to another.

The Vivo S1 in China was a look-alike of Vivo V15 in Pakistan, which is currently in rumors to enter global markets as Vivo S1 Pro which is unlikely. The company, however has made plans to launch the Vivo S1 with completely different feature-set including the in-display fingerprint sensor which wasn’t present in Chinese S1.

Vivo S1 Features (Pakistan)

Vivo S1 packs with MediaTek Helio P65 (aka MT6768) chipset and an octa-core processor clocked at 2.0GHz. That’s little lower variant of P70 that was shipped with V15. Along side the processor, the phone will be equipped with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. Other markets including Indonesia, offer 4G RAM in S1.

Vivo S1 Color Options

The phone will feature a 6.38-inch display with full-HD+ resolution over Super AMOLED panel. Even though the phone will have an in-display fingerprint sensor, it will carry a waterdrop notch – it’s Vivo’s so-called Halo display. So the notch is going to host a front-facing camera of course.

Specs wise, the selfie camera on the front is a 32MP shooter with an f/2.0 lens aperture. On the back the Vivo S1 will have a triple-camera setup – a 16MP main sensor with an f/1.78 lens aperture, an 8MP sensor with ultra wide-angle lens and f/2.2 aperture, and a tertiary 2MP depth sensor with f/2.4 lens aperture.

This global variant of the phone is expected to run Android 9 Pie with company’s Funtouch OS 9 on top. With 4,500 mAh battery, the phone will still not feature USB Type-C but more traditional a microUSB connectivity. Vivo’s dual-engine fast charging will be supported with 18W charger.

Vivo S1 Pricing in Pakistan (expected)

Vivo S1 was launched in Indonesia with the retail price of IDR 35,99,000 for 4GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. It makes up of roughly Rs. 41,300 in Pakistan. But considering a memory boosted model of S1 with 6GB RAM, the phone will cost Rs. 49,999/- in Pakistan.

Vivo S1 will start selling in Pakistan from July 25th, 2019. If you want some extra goodies or exclusive gifts, pre-order the phone before the availability date.
