The Top Five Mid-Range Smartphones from 2019, You May Consider

Top Mid-Range Smartphones 2019

In today’s digitally connected world, everyone needs a good device to get connected with the community. Sure the smartphones have been the most anticipated devices for over a decade, but among smartphones, there is a segment that attracts the most – the mid-range segment.

It’s not only a few regions, where the demand for affordable smartphones is rising. Every part of the world has a market where users do not want to spend a fortune to get connected. Not only small brands but also the top tier smartphone makers have a good reach to this segment of the market. Whether it’s Huawei, Samsung, OPPO, Vivo, Xiaomi or some other. Every year these brands are introducing interesting and innovative tech in their respective smartphones.

The most important and of course a difficult factor for the consumer is always a comparison between a wide range of devices. They can’t decide which one they should buy. To help with that, technology experts evaluate a bunch of devices and provide their ranks. Here’s our pick of the top five smartphones from 2019 that you can consider.

Huawei Y9s

Huawei’s latest mid-tier smartphone is the Y9s that actually has something to impress. Whether you go for design, build, quality, or performance. If you’re looking for a great display, a steller battery, a good camera, then Huawei Y9s could be a good option for you.

Yet with IPS display panel, the 6.59″ screen is quite bright in most conditions. The Full HD+ resolution on a really FullView display is quite sharp with the pixel density of 391 PPI. The phone features an AI-powered triple camera setup with a main 48MP sensor, a secondary 8MP Ultra Wide-angle camera, and a 2MP depth sensor for portrait shots. Check our review to see the camera performance.

The popup 16MP Selfie front camera takes good selfies too. I am not very much a fan of pop-up cameras but they are indeed a futuristic elements in any phone. However, the most important thing about them is that they don’t take any space on the screen. Thanks to it that we finally could experience a real full view display which is really gorgeous.

Finally, the phone offers quite a good amount of storage of 128GB which is extendable to 512GB via SDcard. The 6GB of RAM is also something to consider in this price tag. The Kirin 710F processor with GPU Turbo 3.0 is really a performer. Last but not least the 4000mAh is a stunner on this phone, and it’s something that no one would want to compromise for.

Basically, the phone is up for its glass build, premium design, and an impressive battery timing. You can take other elements such as a good display, a good camera and a nice and smooth performance as a bonus.

Redmi Note 8 Pro

Price: PKR 42,999/-

Redmi Note 8 Pro is really gorgeous in looks. It won’t be a lie if I say that Redmi Note 8 Pro has a truly luxurious style. However, with all that curvy look and stunning gradient color schemes, Note 8 Pro is a bit over large and heavy too, I wonder it couldn’t have made it to my second spot if it didn’t have an extraordinary stuff in addition.

The smartphone is packed with cameras that are on par in this category. The primary camera is equipped with a stunner 64MP main unit along with an 8MP Ultra Wide, a 2MP depth sensor, and a 2MP macro shooter. Along with the powerful performance of the Mediatek Helio G90T processor in this category, this phone just pushed itself up in my ranking list.

The 6.53-inch display size is again a bit larger but full HD+ resolution is great. The IPS panel of this phone is also impressive but the notch what makes it down.

6GB RAM and 128GB is also a good package with 4,500 mAh battery but it’s not for most people. I won’t recommend this phone only for its size and weight. If you do have big hands and carry a brick around along with you, I’d say get this phone.

Oppo A9 2020

OPPO A9 2020 has some features some great stuff to catch an eye. The major ones are the 8GB RAM, Quad Rear camera setup with a 48MP main camera and a large 5,000mAh battery.

The quad-camera setup consists of a 48MP main shooter, 8MP Ultra Wide, 2MP Depth Sensor, and a 2MP Monochrome lens which provides decent quality images. This package is attractive with another 16MP front camera.

The device has a 6.5-inch HD+ IPS screen with a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection which is quite good. However, the resolution of 720p is something that could break the heart. It could really be a deal-breaker if you are more a fan of high-resolution displays. It’s true that resolution is always proportionally effective with the size of the screen. For example, 720p is not bad if the screen size is also small. But a 6.5-inch screen? that will give you a really less impressive content to look at the screen.

Overall, the OPPO A9 2020 is a good mid-range smartphone that indeed has a good look but has a plastic body. Decent performance with large RAM and storage. Large battery and a good camera but the phone takes its position down due to its display.

Vivo S1

Price: 36,999/-

You see the price is just below what other phones have on this list. It’s because this phone actually made its place itself. Only because of the following Samsung Galaxy A30s that has a higher price tag but a less performer than Vivo S1.

Though has a less premium look and plastic body, Vivo S1 is a good package in its price. That’s what makes it a preferable choice than Samsung Galaxy A30s. The Super AMOLED display comes with full HD+ resolution which is impressive in its price.

The phone packs with a triple camera setup containing a 16MP main sensor, 8MP ultra-wide and 2MP depth sensor. The front camera is double the main sensor with 32MP sensor.

Performance-wise, again this phone is a bit better than Galaxy A30s with four high-performance Cortex A75 cores and four power-efficient A55 cores. The GPU, however, is not that great as in Galaxy A30s.

Samsung Galaxy A30s

The Samsung Galaxy A30s is a mid-range smartphone that covers all the basics quite well. While the AMOLED panel is an eye-catching element but the resolution is not up to the par. The triple camera setup, in-screen fingerprint sensor are the factors that could make this phone be present in this list.

The triple camera setup includes a 25MP main camera, an 8MP Ultra Wide Lens and an additional 5MP depth sensor that allows portrait shots while the front-facing selfie camera has a 16MP image sensor.

The Exynos 7904 Octa-core CPU with a Mali-G71 GPU and a 4,000mAh battery, 4GB RAM and 128GB internal storage are just fine in this category.
