PlayStation 5 Console Officially Unveiled with a Dozen Exclusive Games

PlayStation 5 Officially Launched

After a long wait, Sony has finally taken the curtains off of its latest next-gen PlayStation 5 in an online live event. That’s seven years after the original PlayStation 4 was released.

The new gaming console was announced with an exclusive set of games including GTA 5, and Grand Turismo 7. The announcement also included the sequels of bestselling PS4 titles – Spider-Man: Miles Morales and Horizon: Forbidden West.

Sony will launch the PlayStation 5 before the year-end. That’s around when Microsoft has already set to release its Xbox Series X, the first instalment of Project Starlett which is also a next-gen gaming console – exactly the way Sony has referred PlayStation 5 as.

First thing first, Sony has left many key details about the new console, such as the price and the exact release date. So if you are looking for price, then it’s not officially told yet. The best thing you would know about the release date is that, expect it to go on sale in December 2020.

Sony showed off a futuristic design of the new PlayStation 5. The PS5 features 4K Blu-ray player and 3D Audio while another variant of the console is called PS5 Digital Edition which lacks the optical drive.

In addition, Sony also highlighted the separate accessories including DualSense Wireless Controller, DualSense Charging Station, HD Camera, PULSE 3D Wireless Headset, and Media Remote.

Around Two Dozen of New Games

The live event was more of a gaming show with the title “Future of Gaming Show” supposedly to introduce the industry with the exclusive titles designed for PlayStation 5, by the existing partners as well as new first-party developers.

The company showed off 23 new games in total that included the announcement trailers and highlight teasers. Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales and GTA V were among them.

The short trailer showed the spiderman fighting around and web-slinging while it focused on the details such as snow and particles which would be one of the best things about PS5 and may not have been possible in PS4.

Sony’s own title Grand Turismo 7 was also a part of the show while the Capcom’s Resident Evil III: Village was also announced.
