Tecno has launched the photography centric Camon 16 series on November 3, 2020. The company announced two smartphones – Camon 16 and Camon 16 SE with gaming processors. The event was broadcast online on the Tecno Mobile official Facebook page along with other social media platforms.
Tecno had already launched the most expensive variant of the series, Camon 16 Premier earlier last month in Pakistan for 40,000 rupees. Today we saw two more variants – Camon 16 and Camon 16 SE for a lower price tag of Rs. 37,000 and Rs. 27,000 respectively.
Camon 16 Features
Camon 16 features a rear quad-camera setup with a 48MP main sensor coupled with an 8MP 119-degree ultra-wide-angle camera that also works for super macro shots. There is a 2MP depth sensor along with another AI Camera. The main camera setup comes with the 5-led flash unit. On the front, there is a 16MP+8MP dual selfie camera with 105-degree ultra-wide-angle lens.
Camon 16 has a 6.9″ Full HD Dual Dot-In Display giving a 1080*2460 screen resolution. The phone supports 90Hz display refresh rate. There is a side-mounted fingerprint sensor while the phone packs with a large 4500 mAh battery with 33W fast charging.
The phone runs HiOS based on Android 10 operating system. It’s powered by a MediaTek Helio G90T processor coupled with an 8GB of RAM and a 128GB of internal storage.
Camon 16 SE Features
Camon 16 SE features a rear quad-camera setup with a 48MP main sensor coupled with a 2MP super macro sensor. There is a 2MP depth sensor along with another AI Camera. The main camera setup comes with the 5-led flash unit. On the front, there is a 16MP selfie camera.
Camon 16 SE has a 6.8″ HD Dot-In Display with 720*1640 resolution. There is a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor while the phone packs with a larger 5000 mAh battery with 18W fast charging.
The phone runs HiOS based on Android 10 operating system. It’s powered by a MediaTek Helio G70 processor coupled with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.

TAIVOS – What is it?
Considering the fact that both the phones are camera-centric, the company markets the new Camon 16 smartphones with TAIVOS technology (the short for Tecno AI Vision Optimization Solution). The core photography functions of TAIVOS technology are AI wide-angle selfie dual camera, the beautiful Night Portrait Mode, AI Dark Skin Beauty Portrait Mode, Professional Shooting Anti-Shake Mode, 960 Fps Slow-Motion Mode, and 4k Shooting.
Price and Availability
Camon 16 is now available for PKR 36,999 and if you purchase on by the end of the month, you will get a pair of TWS ear pods for free. It’s currently available in only one colour option – Glacial Silver.
Camon 16 SE costs PKR 26,999 and is available in three colour options – Purist Blue, Cloud White, and Misty Grey.
Camon 16 Premier was launched earlier for PKR 39,999.
