Spotify set to launch in Pakistan among 85 new countries

Audio streaming service Spotify has announced about expanding its audio service into 85 more countries. The platform will support additional 36 languages in the process of market expansion.

The Swedish company shared the announcement during its Stream-On event. The expansion of the service is focused on developing countries. The company said that it will allow over a billion people to use the platform across Asia, Africa, the Pacific, and the Caribbean.

According to the announcement, Spotify will launch in more than 80 countries including Pakistan,  Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka. The list goes on with Nigeria, Tanzania, Ghana, Bhutan, Samoa, Jamaica, Bahamas, Belize, and more — the complete list of new countries after the break.

While disclosing the news, Spotify mentioned that this is the “broadest market expansion”  the company ever made. With the new markets, the service will be available in over 170 countries.

The company will work with local creators and partners in each new market while offering Free and Premium plans. Spotify will also offer Individual, Family, Duo, and Student Plan options in select markets. Upon launch in new markets, the service will be available on Mobile and Desktop web player. Though, with partners on board, it will be introduced on more platforms including TV, Speakers, Wearables, and Car in the future.
