Why Vivo X60 Pro price is higher in Pakistan?

Vivo X60 Pro Feature

Vivo has finally launched its flagship X60 series globally starting in Malaysia on March 22nd with X60 and X60 Pro. The third variant X60 Pro+ saw a global launch in India on March 25th. However, the middle variant X60 Pro is the only one of the trio announced in Pakistan on March 27th.

The Chinese smartphone maker initially launched its flagship series X60 with the standard and a Pro variant in China in late December last year. In January, the company added a further premium variant to the series X60 Pro+ only launched in its hometown. Later followed by Malaysia and India, it’s the first time that the flagship X-series of Vivo officially made it to Pakistan.

The X60 Pro has launched today in Pakistan for PKR 130,000 – availability is due on April 6th. The phone is currently priced between $685 (PKR 106,000) to $700 (PKR 108,000) in India and China, costs over $840 in Pakistan.

Obviously, the key factor is that the phone is manufactured in China or at least assembled in India. In Pakistan or even in other regions the phone may cost higher after import duties and further taxes.

Vivo has already set up its assembly plant in Pakistan but it’s not yet operational. We are really keen to see how these in-house plants may help in reducing smartphone prices in Pakistan. However, it’s highly unlikely to down-shift the prices by PKR ~25,000 per device that currently costs over 100k.

Let us know how do you feel about paying that lot of premium for your favourite brand’s phone which usually costs way lower in other regions.
