Samsung and Vivo are fastest-growing 5G smartphone brands – Strategy Analytics

Samsung Vivo 5G Fastest Brands

Samsung and Vivo became the top two fastest-growing 5G smartphone brands in Q1 2021.

Being the fastest growing brand with leaping 79% quarter-on-quarter, Samsung shipped 17 million units. According to the report, Samsung performed well in South Korea, North America, and parts of Europe with its new 5G models, such as Galaxy S21 5G, S21 ultra 5G and S21+ 5G.

Vivo, on the other hand, jumped 62% quarter-on-quarter with 19 million units shipped. The report suggests that Vivo’s 5G smartphone strongholds are China and Europe with iQOO U3 5G and U7 5G smartphones.

Following the top two, OPPO grew 55% QoQ, and Xiaomi increased 41% QoQ. Both hold solid volumes at home in China. Meanwhile, Apple dipped 23% QoQ, following a blowout in Q4 2020 where the new 5G iPhone was wildly popular as a gift during the holiday season, the report adds.

According to Strategy Analytics, Samsung is growing fast in 5G smartphones but not in China. The South Korean smartphone maker has an extremely low presence in China which is the world’s biggest 5G market.

“As a fervent advocate of 5G development, Vivo has made remarkable progress in 5G standards and core technologies, committed to providing users with a growing range of 5G mobile phones and an improved 5G experience”, Vivo Pakistan released a press statement on July 17th.

Vivo has recently launched its first 5G smartphone the Vivo X60 Pro in Pakistan – a premium, flagship device which features professional photography capabilities, unsurpassed design, and flagship performance. The X60 Pro marks as one of the inaugural Vivo devices to be created in collaboration with ZEISS, a global leader in optics and optoelectronics.
