Tecno’s Memory Fusion Technology adds up to 5GB virtual memory to physical RAM

Tecno Memory Fusion Virtual RAM

Tecno has announced the release of its Memory Fusion technology which adds more memory to the phone virtually. This new option increases the RAM capacity of smartphones for optimal efficiency and processing power.

The new memory expansion feature will be available in the recently launched Camon 18 series phone. The feature will be rolled out through a software update in the coming week.

Memory Fusion, a memory expansion technology by Tecno, is specially designed to channel RAM operations by using unused internal storage. In layman terms, a smartphone with 8GB RAM  and 128GB internal storage can be optimized by acquiring more virtual memory from the free storage space and allocating it for RAM.

Tecno Memory Fusion Virtual RAMBy allocating more storage to RAM, the Memory Fusion Technology further enhances the device’s multitasking capacity, seamless switching between apps, and stabilizes the phone’s systems for more sustainable performance and longer battery life.

If compared to a phone without Memory Fusion, a Tecno phone equipped with the technology performs far better. The company claimed in a press release that Tecno’s 8GB + 128GB phones, which allow for up to 5GB increase of RAM, saw an 81% (up to 20 apps) increase in actively running applications. It’s a 122% increase in warm reboot speed, and a 61% improvement in the time it takes to load frequently used applications.

The technology has actually lived longer in computers in similar or different forms, but it’s now available in smartphones from several other brands including Vivo, Samsung, OPPO, and Realme. Thank’s to Android 11’s memory management that actually allowed the technology to be used in phones.
