Vivo X80 series launching in Pakistan on May 16th – Expected Price, specifications and everything you need to know

Vivo X80 Pakistan Launch

The Vivo X80 series was first announced last month in China and then the global unveiling of the smartphone started in Malaysia. Just a day ago, the launch date of the smartphone was announced in India which is May 18, 2022. Now we have another launch date of May 16th set for Pakistan as well.

The global Vivo X80 series includes three models – X80X80 Pro, and X80 Pro+. In Pakistan, however, only the base model of the Vivo X80 will be unveiled. The launch date of the Pro and Pro+ models will not be launching next Monday. The company has not disclosed the launch date for the healthier variants in Pakistan. Though, we believe the X80 Pro may follow in Q3 2022.

The launch date of the Vivo X80 was first revealed on Vivo Pakistan’s Twitter handle today. It confirmed the company will be announcing the Vivo X80 officially next week on Monday, May 16th.

Further, the media and digital tech community have received formal invitations from the brand to attend the launch event in the evening on the said date.

The Vivo X80 series comes with two processor chips, the Dimensity 9000 and the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. The latter is exclusive to the Pro and Pro+ models whereas the Pro model also has a variant powered by Dimensity 9000 which is only a regional case. The base model, on the other hand, only comes with MediaTek’s Dimensity 9000 chip.

The same is also confirmed when we look at the brand’s activity page on its Pakistan website.

Vivo X80 – Specifications

It’s also worth noting that The base X80 model comes with the Dimensity 9000 SoC regardless of the region. Other features of the Vivo X80, in the Chinese variant, include memory configurations of 8GB+128GB,256GB or 12GB+256GB,512GB. Consumers in Pakistan may expect two configurations of 8GB RAM with 128GB of internal storage and 12GB RAM with 256GB storage. At once or in parts.

The Vivo X80 features a trio of cameras on the back with a 50-megapixels unit for main shots. A 12MP camera offers telephoto shots and another 12MP unit takes ultrawide angle shots. Not to mention the 32-megapixels front-facing camera for selfies. Again these features come from a Chinese variant, it’s highly possible the global variant may carry different camera specifications.

With respect to power management, the X80 features a 4700mAh battery with 80-watt wired fast charging. The Pro and Pro+ models of the X80 smartphones also offer 50-watt wireless fast charging.

Also note that, according to reports, global variants of the X80 series will run FuntouchOS 12, unlike the Chines variants that run OriginOS Ocean. The core operating system is of course the Android 12.
