The new Apple TV 4K has 8GB of RAM and the OLED iPad mini has 12GB, according to device data inside Xcode 27.2. Apple’s own announcements for the two products leave memory off the spec list.
Xcode is the toolkit Apple gives app developers, and version 27.2 went out on 29 October. Its device listings are where the memory sizes surfaced, ahead of anyone getting the hardware in hand.
The find comes from MacRumors, which reports that Xcode 27.2 lists both models. The site also says that the same data shows 12GB for the iPhone Duo. Apple hasn’t confirmed any of these figures, so treat them as a developer-tool leak rather than a spec sheet.

The fourth-generation Apple TV 4K runs an A19 chip. Apple’s newsroom post says the chip brings up to 50% faster CPU and up to twice the GPU speed of the previous box, plus a dedicated AV1 decoder. It costs $299 in the US, with in-store availability from Friday 13 November.

The iPad mini uses the A20 Pro, built on a 2-nanometre process. Apple’s iPad mini announcement lists an 8.5-inch OLED display peaking at 1,200 nits, storage of 128GB, 256GB or 512GB, and a US starting price of $699 for Wi-Fi or $849 with cellular. Pre-orders opened on 28 October and sales start on 6 November.
| Device | Chip | RAM (per Xcode 27.2) | US price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Apple TV 4K (4th generation) | A19 | 8GB | $299 |
| iPad mini (OLED) | A20 Pro | 12GB | From $699 |
Apple says both run Siri AI, its conversational assistant, which is in beta. The company hasn’t said how much memory that feature uses on either device.
The iPad mini ships to customers from 6 November and the Apple TV 4K from 13 November, so independent teardowns and benchmark listings should show whether the Xcode figures hold.
