Android Family Hub is rolling out in Settings with Play services 26.43

Google says Android now has a Family Hub in Settings, a single place for family management tools, arriving with Play services update 26.43.

Key points

  • Android Settings now has a Family Hub for family management tools.
  • It ships with Google Play services version 26.43.
  • Google has not said which phones or regions get it first.

Google has started rolling out a Family Hub in Android Settings, a dedicated screen for the family tools that used to be spread across separate apps and account pages. It comes through a Google Play services update, so it does not wait for a new Android version.

Google has said very little about it and has not named the phones that get it first. Play services updates reach devices in stages, so the entry may take days or weeks to show up on yours.

The mention sits in Google’s System Services release notes for November 2026, tied to Play services version 26.43. The note is one line long: no feature list, no device list, no regions.

On PCs, Family Link’s “Add/remove user” setting now lets a supervised user hand admin rights to someone else, as long as the device allows more than one admin.

Digital car keys get a change too. Owners of keys on compatible cars can pass them on to relatives or a service provider, with limits on what each person can do. Co-owner, Guest and Service are the new roles, and they also cover moving a key between your own gadgets, say from a phone to a watch.

To see whether you have the hub, open Settings and look for a Family entry near the top. If it is missing, check which version of Play services you are on and update it through the Play Store.

Family management on Android has meant hopping between Family Link, store settings and Google account pages, so a Settings entry that gathers them is a convenience for parents and anyone running a shared family plan. Whether the hub also lists shared subscriptions or locations is not stated in Google’s note.
