Two Assassin’s Creed projects that Ubisoft has never mentioned are reportedly in development: a game set in ancient Rome and a smartphone spin-off. The claim comes from Xj0nathan, a French YouTuber also written as J0nathan, and Ubisoft has not commented.
The Rome game goes by the codename Mars. Xj0nathan says he checked it with two people who can see Ubisoft’s internal systems, and he suspects the setting is meant to line up with the Assassin’s Creed television series. That connection is his guess, not a Ubisoft statement.
The second codename, Pocket, refers to a phone game whose story unfolds in Jerusalem. It is said to borrow its structure from Valhalla’s Mastery Challenge mode and its look from the latest Prince of Persia, and the player’s mentor would be a character named Myriam.
Caution is warranted. Insider Gaming says it heard the same codenames from its own contacts but could not confirm them to the standard it needs for a report. The outlet points to the upheaval around the series since Marc-Alexis Côté left Ubisoft, and recalls that its sources said in October that the next main game, Assassin’s Creed Hexe, had been pushed back internally by around a year, likely to 2028. For Mars, it expects silence until 2029 or 2030 even if the project advances.
The series has visited Rome before, but only in its Renaissance form, in 2010’s Brotherhood. Ubisoft said earlier this week that it has no new remakes of old Assassin’s Creed titles in progress, so this report arrives soon after the company tried to settle that question.
No platforms, prices or release windows have been mentioned for either title.
