Epic Games is changing what a Fortnite Crew subscription gives you from 5 December. The monthly skin pack and the OG Pass go, and the 800 V-Bucks you get each month rise to between 1,000 and 1,600, depending on how long you have been subscribed.
Crew costs $11.99 a month, and it is also bundled into Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. Until now it has paid out 800 V-Bucks, a monthly Crew Pack of exclusive outfits, and the Battle Pass, OG Pass, Lego Pass and Music Pass, plus the premium Rocket Pass for Rocket League.
Epic announced the changes this week, as VGC reported. December’s Crew Pack will be the last. Anyone who owns a Crew Pack outfit and has not unlocked all of its Legacy Styles will be given the missing ones. The OG Pass ends on 5 December with what Epic calls a “dramatic conclusion” to Chapter 1: OG Season X, and the next era of Fortnite OG is promised for late 2027.
The new V-Bucks scale is 1,000 a month for the first two months, 1,200 for months three to five, 1,400 for months six to 11, and 1,600 from the twelfth month. Time already subscribed counts, so a member of more than a year starts in the 1,600 tier straight away. Crew members will also get 20% extra XP in Fortnite, and the Battle Pass, Music Pass, Lego Pass and Rocket Pass Premium stay in the subscription.
For anyone who joined Crew mainly for the skins, the swap is a worse deal on paper: the pack is gone and V-Bucks are the only currency that replaces it. Longtime subscribers come out ahead, since 1,600 V-Bucks a month is double the old payout.
