HyperOS 4 reaches 82 Xiaomi, Redmi and POCO devices from November

Xiaomi's HyperOS 4 reaches 82 phones and tablets in three waves from early November to December, down to the Xiaomi 13T and Redmi 14S.

Key points

  • HyperOS 4 reaches 82 Xiaomi, Redmi and POCO phones and tablets in three waves.
  • The first wave starts in early November, the second in mid-November, the last in December.
  • The dates are starting windows, so individual phones may get the update later.

Xiaomi has started rolling out HyperOS 4, its Android 17-based software, to phones and tablets outside China. The roadmap covers 82 Xiaomi, Redmi and POCO devices in three waves, and the first group of recent models gets the update from this month.

The dates are starting windows, not promised install days. Xiaomi staggers updates by device and region, so your phone may not show the prompt on the first day even if it is on the first list. Checking Settings, then About phone, then the software update screen is the quick way to find out.

The new version changes how the phone looks more than what it does. The look is named Soft Light Glass. Windows and panels turn see-through, notifications sit in layers, and the lock screen can be changed in more ways. Android Headlines adds larger clock widgets, smoother floating windows and better screen rotation on tablets, and says an optimisation tool that learns app habits cuts startup times by up to 20%. That figure comes from the outlet’s write-up of Xiaomi’s roadmap, so treat it as Xiaomi’s claim until tested.

Under the hood, HyperOS 4 is built on Android 17 for most devices and on Android 16 for others. Some phones already received Android 17 with HyperOS 3, so for those the visible change is Xiaomi’s own layer. The global beta started in September on a handful of flagships.

Xiaomi’s roadmap sorts the devices into these waves, shown here by brand:
