OnePlus Turbo 7 tipped for Snapdragon 8 Gen 6 and 200MP camera

A Weibo tipster says the OnePlus Turbo 7 will move from a 50MP to a 200MP main camera and use an unannounced Snapdragon chip. OnePlus has said nothing.

Key points

  • A Weibo tipster says the Turbo 7 uses the Snapdragon 8 Gen 6 and a 200MP main camera.
  • The screen is tipped at 185Hz, with 165Hz system-wide, and a glass body.
  • OnePlus has confirmed nothing; launch is tipped for the end of 2026.

A 200MP main camera on a OnePlus Turbo phone would be a first for the line. That is what a tipster on Weibo claims for the OnePlus Turbo 7, along with an unannounced Snapdragon 8 Gen 6 chip and a launch in China before the year ends. OnePlus has not confirmed any of it.

Against the Turbo 6, the leaked list changes four things: a flagship-tier chip in place of the 8s Gen 4, 200MP in place of 50MP on the main camera, 185Hz in place of 165Hz on the screen (165Hz system-wide), and a glass body, with no periscope telephoto added.

The same recipe as the Ace 7 phones

The 200MP sensor and 185Hz panel are already in the OnePlus 16 and in the Ace 7 and Ace 7 Pro, which launched in China last week. GSMArena, which relayed the Weibo post, adds that the tipster says OnePlus wants to be among the first to ship a phone with the new Qualcomm chip, which is still being finalised.

Possibly the Turbo Pro

The name may not hold. Weeks earlier, Digital Chat Station described a Turbo Pro with the same chip, a 6.78-inch 1.5K display, 200MP camera and at least 9,000mAh of battery, due around year end. One phone could be behind both leaks. The chip’s branding is also open, since an earlier leak said it could be sold as Snapdragon 8 Gen 6 or Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 Pro.

The Weibo post gives no battery size or price. The most recent Turbo phone to surface was the Turbo 6Vs, which appeared in China on 1 November with a 9,000mAh battery. There is no word on markets beyond China.
