Oppo’s camera-first Find X10 Ultra may never launch. On Weibo, Digital Chat Station says an unnamed brand’s Ultra project is on hold for “this generation”, and readers took that to mean Oppo’s phone. The tipster didn’t correct them. Oppo has not said anything about it.
The wording matters. Digital Chat Station’s main post named no brand. When a commenter asked whether the Find X10 Ultra had been cut, the tipster did not push back, so the Oppo link is the community’s reading of the hint, not a confirmation. Asked whether the freeze starts with this model or the next one, the answer was “this generation”, which makes the Ultra look shelved rather than merely late. Oppo’s global Find X10 and X10 Pro Max are already out, and the Ultra would have trailed them in early 2027.
Nobody has said why. Money is the obvious suspect. Earlier leaks made the Ultra a camera showpiece, with a 200MP LOFIC main sensor, two periscope cameras for long-range zoom and a square 100MP selfie camera, and a recent test reportedly pitted a Dimensity 9600 Pro against a Snapdragon for it. Notebookcheck reasons that a top Snapdragon, plenty of RAM and a large battery would price the phone out of reach while memory is this expensive. Even the Pro Max, with three 200MP cameras, sells for close to a Galaxy Z Fold 8 before that foldable’s current discount.
Oppo would not be alone. Xiaomi’s 18 Ultra was reportedly cancelled earlier, with memory costs blamed. In a separate reply the tipster said it was “quite normal” and that another maker had planned an Ultra around its own chip, which was also cancelled. The brand wasn’t named, but the description fits Xiaomi. Other single-source claims say iQOO’s 16 Ultra could skip 2027 and that Indian launches of the OnePlus 16 and the Find X10 Ultra have been dropped.
The leaker also hints at Oppo’s 2027 plans: fewer models in the Find X line and more attention to wider screens. One reported test device has a 6.35-inch 16:9 panel at 2560 x 1440, bezels of about 1mm and a body around 81mm wide, with a flagship Dimensity chip and an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor. A pocket gimbal camera, a new product type for Oppo, is also said to be close; earlier rumours credit both Oppo and Vivo with pocket gimbals built around a 200MP 1/1.12-inch sensor. A premium flagship would lead that wide-screen line, and a thinner variant aimed at photography could follow afterwards. It is unclear whether Oppo’s N-series foldables are affected.
Treat all of it with caution. Digital Chat Station is usually reliable on Chinese-market insider details, but Oppo has not confirmed the pause, the tipster never named the phone, and a suspended project can still be restarted. Until Oppo says more, the Find X10 Pro Max stays the most powerful phone in its range.
