Xiaomi’s biggest phone battery yet may be on the way. Digital Chat Station, a Weibo tipster, claims that a Dimensity-powered Redmi with a 7-inch 2K display will carry an 11,000mAh cell of 40.72Wh. Redmi has said nothing about it.
The post never names the phone. Its description lines up with earlier leaks of the Redmi Turbo 6 Max, so that is the model the claim is pinned on, and the same handset is expected to be sold elsewhere as the Poco X9 Pro Max.
Gizmochina’s notes that the tipster had earlier suggested a battery above 10,000mAh together with MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500s. The new number is more precise than that. For scale, the Turbo 5 Max shipped with 9,000mAh and 100W wired charging, so this would add about 2,000mAh.
The rest of the leaked list is unconfirmed too: a flat OLED with very thin bezels and a refresh rate of around 185Hz, a metal frame, dust and water ratings of IP68 and IP69, an ultrasonic fingerprint reader under the screen and a two-camera back.
Big batteries are becoming a contest among Chinese brands. Earlier today Honor was reported to be testing 14,000 to 15,000mAh cells, so an 11,000mAh Redmi would not stay the record for long if those tests reach a shop shelf. Capacity alone says little, though: a larger 7-inch screen at 2K and a high refresh rate will draw more power, and real battery life depends on how the Dimensity chip and software manage it.
If Redmi keeps to its previous schedule, a China launch in January 2027 is plausible. There is no official date or price yet.
