Ratchet & Clank: Ranger Rumble, the free-to-play mobile shooter Sony soft-launched in a few test regions last November, is being shut down without ever getting a worldwide release. The game’s final update went out on 6 November, it disappears from the App Store and Google Play on 21 November, and its servers go offline on 1 May 2027.
Anyone who already has it installed can keep playing until that date. After the servers close the game will no longer load, and player data will be wiped. Sony says all current modes, matchmaking and competitive play stay available until then, and that progress, purchases and unlocked items cannot be moved to another game.
The game was built by the French studio Oh BiBi together with Insomniac Games and PlayStation Studios, and was revealed in November 2025 as a multiplayer hero shooter built around PvP arena battles. It was only ever released in a handful of regions, including the Philippines, Indonesia, the Nordic countries, France, Canada and the UK. In July, the PlayStation Blog opened worldwide pre-registration and said the game was gearing up for a global launch, with 12 heroes and six game modes planned for day one.
The closing notice and FAQ on the game’s website says in-app purchases have been removed. The Qwark Pass seasons keep running until the end, the Super Pass is now free, and any currency earned or bought can be spent until 1 May. Anyone wanting a refund for earlier purchases has to ask Apple or Google, not Sony. Players who pre-registered will still get their rewards when they log in to the 7 November update.
Sony adds that the rest of the Ratchet & Clank series and PlayStation’s own services are untouched. VGC tracked the soft launch region by region, and none of those markets was a full release. The notice does not say whether the characters will return in another game.
